Phone Pictures #2

More in my understated series of pictures dragged from my phone.

On a trip to London in March, it turned out to be the birthday of L. Ron Hubbard, father of Scientology. Lots of people weren’t happy at this, and coming up the steps from the Millennium Bridge to St. Pauls, we came across this demonstration of people wearing V for Vendetta masks outside their headquaters.

It was also the St Patrick’s Day weekend, and we stumbled across Trafalgar Square just as Red Ken (the then-Mayor of London) released a load of orange, green and white balloons.

That weekend also turned out to contain the BBC’s Sport Relief event. Just as we were walking to the South Bank, we stumbled (we didn’t do a lot of planning, hence the stumbling) upon the start of the event. Major celebrities were spied, such as Dick (or was it Dom?) from CBBC, Tim Lovejoy from Soccer Saturday, Jon Inverdale, and my personal favorite, and the star of this picture, Toby Anstis, once of Broom Cupboard fame, telling me I was about to get to watch Mysterious Cities of Gold.

  1. I hate to be a pedant (!), but St Patrick’s Day is March 17th, and hence is not in April.

  2. Toby Anstis…there’s a blast from the past!!

  3. It was Dom, add in the twins from Big Brother and Carrie from the Chris Moyles show – what a selection!!
