Keep fishing…

Keep fishing was spawned from another blog in a (naive?) attempt to attain a little more anonymity.

To borrow an expression from a friend, the primary purpose of this blog is to provide an ‘overflow carpark for the digressionary thoughts of my mind’. Personality tests tell me that I’m an external processor, so it also acts as a forum for developing and articulating opinions. And whilst I’m muddling through a masters degree in tropical coastal management, it might hopefully serve as a venue where I can explain some of the more important, yet less publicized environmental and social issue’s we’re facing as a global community.

So thoughts on here will range from trivialities about exam deadlines, the current successes/failures of Aston Villa and who threw up on my shoe at a gig last night, to more deeper musings on God, the environment, social justice and my favourite sea creature.

I reserve the right not to write about any of these things.

The reasons behind the name are open to debate, but include Jesus’ invitation to become fishers of men, my current career trajectory towards coastal management (and the ironies involved in the persistence of people ‘keeping fishing’) and a Weezer song that had a great Muppett video.

Incidentally, I have no personal interest in fishing as an activity.
